Office copies!!!
Two new series launching next month:
AJIN - demi-human - Witchcraft Works
Both of them have something special about them. I wonder if people will know just what…

For $13 these better be hardcover.

LOL no. Hardcover are at least $20.
All our seinen releases are at least $12.95, even Chi. Same prices for the last 5 years.

Then this is just getting ridiculous. You guys (Vertical, Seven Seas, Yen Press) keep raising the prices of your volumes. I used to be able to go to Borders and buy 10 volumes for a little over 100 dollars. Now I can only get 6 to 8, and have it be around the same price. Its not like any employers are raising wages. Its just prices going up. Does it have some sort of “super limited color page”? Or is it just 12.95 because all your seinen releases are 12.95?

Yeah there are color pages in these two release. But please read the previous entry…Our prices, Vertical’s prices, for seinen have not changed for 6 years (I just checked The Guin Saga from 2008 was also $12.95). Our shonen and shojo are still $10.95 as they’ve always been.I will not speak about the other publishers because we all have different business structures, but please do not state that we’ve been raising prices… when we haven’t.As to why seinen is more… Bigger trim sizes (look at the size of our shonen titles they are tiny). Color pages.
In the case of Witchcraft Works extra content - including an extra comic, an extra color pages and notes written by the author herself. And generally seinen doesn’t sell as much as shonen/shojo so due to supply/demand pressures prices are higher. Same as in Japan where seinen manga is usually at least a few dollars more than shonen/shojo.
